Walk Chênes Lièges in spring 2024

A week ago Sunday we went to the beach.

Not for a swim. With 14 degreess it was too cold.

We walked from Chêne Liégès over to the main beach in Moliets.

The beach here is endlessly long and incredibly wide. Even in high season, it’s never crowded here.

The walk to Moliet-Plage takes between 15-20 minutes.
When the wind blows from the north, it blows hard in your face.
And that’s exactly how it was: gale-force winds, but still beautiful at first.

But by the time it started to rain, we were already over there and could hide in the forest along the golf course.

The amount of sand that blows in over the winter. That’s an incredible amount. The council workers are already very busy. Everything is brought back down to the beach with wheel loaders. All has to be ready by Whitsun at the latest.//

It rained over the winter. A lot of rain. And it’s still raining. Large areas in the forest, parts of the golf course and roads are flooded. But everything is seeping away at record speed on the sandy soil. And at the same time, the garden irrigation system was tested for functionality last week 🙂
